Teachers Plan Asbestos Study

WASHINGTON — The nation’s biggest teachers’ union, saying the Reagan Administration is moving too slowly, announced plans today to determine for itself the extent of cancer-causing asbestos in public schools.
The National Education Assn. said it will conduct a survey this summer and use the results to pressure local governments to remove the hazard and to push the government to pay for the bulk of the estimated $3-billion job.
