Two Young Children Die After Falling Into Backyard Pools

Two young children were pronounced dead at Orange County hospitals Monday after falling into backyard pools.
Two-year-old Bradley Hoppe of Signal Hill died after falling into an unheated hot tub in the backyard of a relative’s home in Huntington Beach. Fire Department officials said the boy was visiting in the 19300 block of Shady Harbor Drive when he apparently fell into the tub next to a backyard swimming pool and drowned about 4:45 p.m.
Relatives found the boy and called paramedics, who were unable to revive him. After further resuscitation efforts by Pacifica Community Hospital emergency personnel, the boy was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. at the Huntington Beach hospital, according to Fire Department officials.
Kimberly Louise Lyons, 2, of Diamond Bar, was pronounced dead at Brea Community Hospital about 7:45 p.m. after being found by her mother in a backyard swimming pool in the 2500 block of Sunbright Drive.
