The British Aerospace Dynamics Group, Bristol Division, will manufacture and sell military-specification SECS 80 computers under a licensing agreement with Chatsworth-based Severe Environment Systems Co., a subsidiary of The Titan Corp.
Severe Environment Systems declined to reveal what is was paid for the license.
The agreement gives British Aerospace exclusive manufacturing and marketing rights for the computers in the United Kingdom, and non-exclusive rights elsewhere. British Aerospace will use the SECS 80 computers in its weapon and aircraft systems.
For Severe Environment Systems, the agreement offers a better chance at worldwide market penetration, according to Bob R. Harris, director of computer program management.
The computers can fit in an airplane or tank and are designed to withstand shock, vibrations and extreme temperatures, Harris said.
