Stephen W. Chabre was promoted to chief operating officer of Dailey & Associates, a Los Angeles advertising agency.
Republic Pictures Corp., Los Angeles, named Alex Tovar controller.
Doyle Dane Bernbach/Los Angeles named Bruce D. Miller senior vice president. The advertising agency also named Don Ward and Jerry Gentile vice presidents.
Unocal Corp., Los Angeles, named R. Gene Dewey president of its wholly owned subsidiary, Molycorp Inc., which operates mines and processing plants in California, New Mexico, Colorado and Pennsylvania. Dewey replaces Thomas B. Sleeman, who was named a group senior vice president in Unocal’s chemicals division.
Thomas A. Wilson was named senior vice president of Molycorp.
Keith F. Nichols, a lending officer in the Southern California division of the corporate banking group for San Francisco-based Wells Fargo Bank, has been named a vice president in its Los Angeles office.
Diane Mattulat has joined California Federal Savings & Loan Assn., Los Angeles, as vice president and director of tax compliance. Also, H.E. Galloway has joined CalFed as vice president and direct loan manager in the consumer financial services division.
CalFed also announced that Howard J. Isador has joined its Trust Services of America Inc. subsidiary as senior vice president and corporate trust manager.
Julian Myers has been promoted to executive vice president-worldwide motion picture and television publicity/marketing for Hanson & Schwam Public Relations, Los Angeles.
Mark L. Wright has been elected president of Executive Savings & Loan Assn., Marina del Rey.
First Interstate Bank of California, Los Angeles, named Jurgen H. Lindemann, currently manager of foreign exchange and treasury for Europe, Middle East and Africa, as senior vice president in its London office.
CALIFORNIA
Westamerica Bancorp, San Rafael, named Rex T. Silvernale chairman of the bank holding company and its principal subsidiary, Westamerica Bank. He replaces William P. Murray Jr., who retired from active management last year.
National Semiconductor Corp., Santa Clara, promoted James B. Owens Jr. to vice president-technology.
Harvey Schloss joined BR Communications, Sunnyvale, as vice president-finance and administration.
