Ronald L. Merriman has been appointed managing partner of the Orange County office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., replacing Maury DeWald, who left to become managing partner of the Chicago office of the international accounting firm.
Merriman, 40, has been with Peat Marwick for 18 years, and was an audit partner in the Los Angeles office until last year, when he transferred to Washington D.C. as head of the firm’s national transportation practice. Merriman was a member of the Financial Planning Advisory Commission of the Los Angeles Olympics Organizing Committee and is vice chairman-business of the Southern California Committee of the United States Olympic Committee.
Gerald H. Stool, a private investor and director of American Century Corp., San Antonio, has been elected to the board of First American Financial Corp., Santa Ana.
Alice Pon has been appointed assistant vice president for Centennial Beneficial Mortgage Co., where she will be in charge of the Sacramento division. Pon had been with Home Federal Savings and Loan. Centennial Beneficial Mortgage Co. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Centennial Beneficial Corp. of Orange.
Paul Edmonds has been named vice president of research and development at Genisco Computers Corp. of Costa Mesa. Edmonds, 40, had served as director of small systems engineering for Basic Four Computers in Tustin. Genisco Computers Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Genisco Technology Corp. of Compton.
Archive Corp. has named Kenneth C. Campbell vice president of engineering, replacing William R. Miller, who was named vice president of technology. Campbell had been vice president of research, development and engineering at Xerox’s Diablo Systems division before joining Archive, a Costa Mesa tape drive manufacturer.
Joseph E. Masucci has been promoted to vice president of sales at Unit Instruments Inc. Masucci had been director of sales for the Orange high technology company since 1981.
Wayne Wedin has been selected as the new chairman of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce’s Transportation Council, replacing Robert (Skip) Davenport. Wedin is president of Wedin Enterprises Inc. of La Habra and is a former Brea city manager.
David Schlotterbeck has been named to the board of Computer Systems Approach Inc. (CALCOMP), an Anaheim computer consulting firm. Schlotterbeck is vice president and general manager of the Plotter Division of CALCOMP.
William Batiste has been promoted to partner-in-charge of Price Waterhouse’s management consulting services practice in the Newport Beach office. He replaces James McNally, who is transferring to San Francisco as partner-in-charge of the Pacific Coast North Region for the accounting firm.
