Fire destroyed one apartment and damaged three others Friday, causing an estimated $120,000 loss to a North Hollywood housing complex, officials said.
The blaze, which broke out shortly after 2 p.m. in the 13200 block of Vanowen Street, began in a ground-floor apartment and quickly spread to three others on the second floor, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Larry Ford said.
One tenant suffered a minor burn to his foot while escaping his room and was treated at a nearby hospital.
Firefighters from five companies put out the blaze about 2:37 p.m., Ford said.
Officials said the fire also caused an estimated $50,000 damage to the building’s contents.
Cause of the fire is under investigation, Ford said.
