A political consultant sternly warned that “Country Club Republicans” are tarnishing efforts to change the party’s image. Lance Tarrance, a panelist for the final seminar at the GOP Midwest Leadership Conference in Grand Rapids, Mich., said the most important issue before the party is its ability to attract voters that Republicans previously thought embraced “different values.” He specifically mentioned blue-collar workers, Catholics, Jews and Latinos.
