An anonymous telephone tip has resulted in the recovery of more than $400,000 worth of stolen merchandise in Compton. According to police, the anonymous caller said that a man identified as Michael E. Stubbs, 44, could be found in Palmdale selling automobile cassette players allegedly stolen last February from two trucks parked outside a Sears & Roebuck Co. warehouse in Compton. Lt. Jim Fette said that Stubbs was arrested and led police to a house at 469 W. Tichenor Ave., where they found more cassette players and boxes of Sears golf jackets.
