Jimmy Doolittle Given Fourth Star by Reagan

WASHINGTON — President Reagan on Thursday presented Jimmy Doolittle with a fourth star, making the World War II hero the first four-star general in the Air Force Reserve.
Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-Ariz.), a former pilot in the Air Force Reserve and sponsor of the legislation promoting the 89-year-old Doolittle, helped Reagan pin the stars on the retired general, who led the first U.S. air raid on Tokyo in 1942.
