Mortgage Rates at 5-Year Low

WASHINGTON — Conventional mortgage rates have dipped to their lowest average in nearly five years, the Mortgage Bankers Assn. of America said today.
The trade association, which represents 2,200 mortgage lenders, found an average rate of 12.38% for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages. That is the lowest since mid-1980.
