Man Gets 25 Years for 2 Post Office Robberies

The federal Jesse James Act, which mandates 25 years in prison for armed robbery of a postal facility, was cited by U.S. District Judge Laughlin Waters in sentencing John Henry Johnson, 38, for robbing two Los Angeles-area post offices at gunpoint.
In addition to the 25-year term, Johnson was sentenced on Tuesday to five months’ probation and was ordered to repay $2,245 to the U.S. Postal Service.
Johnson’s partner in the robberies, Charles Leon Harris, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
