A 16-year-old Van Nuys girl died in surgery three hours after she fell under the wheels of an RTD bus on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, traffic officers said. She was identified as Gina Leggett. Doctors at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank said she suffered a crushed pelvis and other internal injuries. Officer Richard Neuenschwander said the accident occurred when the girl, who had just gotten off the bus with a friend, walked into the side of the bus and fell underneath it as it was completing a right turn from Whitsett Avenue onto Ventura Boulevard.
