Laing to Build Colton Houses

Plans to develop 201 single-family houses on a 25-acre tract in Colton at a cost of $14 million have been announced by John Laing Homes Inc.

Prices for the one- and two-level homes with up to 1,450 square feet of floor spoace will range from $59,000 to $85,000. Construction of the first 35 homes will begin in August, and completion is expected in January.

The houses, to be located on the north side of San Bernardino Avenue, between Pepper and Riverside drives, will feature fireplaces, tile roofs, air conditioning and front-yard landscaping, according to Tim Unger, Laing president.
