Foster Wheeler Unit Gets $9.5-Million Contract
LIVINGSTON, N.J. — Foster Wheeler Energy Resources, a unit of Foster Wheeler Corp., has been awarded a $9.5-million contract from the Commerce Refuse to Energy Authority to design, manufacture, and construct the “boiler island†at a 300-ton-per-day refuse-to-energy plant at Commerce, Calif.
The company said it has scheduled the Boiler Island unit for completion by June, 1986. It will be the first steam-electric plant in California to burn municipal solid waste and will meet all of the state’s stringent environmental requirements, the company said.
