Chun Leads Saddleback to Golf Title
Saddleback College, led by Philip Chun, won the South Coast Conference championships Monday at Rainbow Canyon in Temucula.
The Gauchos won the 36-hole event with a 768. Santa Ana College was second with 776, Fullerton was third with 781, Mt. San Antonio was fourth with 808, Cypress was fifth with 818, Orange Coast was sixth with 820 and Cerritos was seventh with 903.
Chun had the tournament’s low score with a 149. He was named the conference’s player of the year, an award given to the player with the lowest average over the 10-match season. Chun had a 73.6 average.
Saddleback (19-2) and Santa Ana will represent the SCC at the Southern California championships on May 6 at Western Hills in Placentia.
