The lone survivor of a weekend gangland-style shooting was listed in fair condition and under police protection at Mercy Hospital, hospital spokesman Norman Greene said.

Pedro Castillo Jr., 39, and three other men were bound and then shot Friday night at an auto body shop on 43rd Street. Castillo was shot once in the right side, and was stabbed in the right hip, police said.

The other victims--Jose Luis Rositas, 24; Marco Antonio Zamora Villa, 31, and Ernesto Mendez Domingues, 30--were found dead at the scene Friday with gunshot wounds to the head. All of the men had their hands tied behind their backs.

San Diego police found an abandoned van Monday that they believe was used as the getaway car in the shootings. Police Lt. Richard Collier said the van was parked in the 1800 block of Fern Street, about three miles from the shooting scene.

Police Sunday night said they were seeking three men in the shooting: Hector Ayala, 23; his brother, Ronald, 24, and Joseph Moreno, 45.
