The World - News from April 22, 1985
A rural Philippine audience fled a fire in a movie theater that killed 44 people, most of them teen-agers, and injured 53 in a stampede to escape. The theater is on the second floor of a three-story building in the center of Tabaco, 200 miles southeast of Manila. An initial investigation indicated that the blaze had been preceded by an explosion.
