Reagan’s Visit to Germany
As a combat veteran of all five campaigns of the European war from the invasion of Normandy to the gates of Berlin, I was mortified at President Reagan’s decision to honor the German war dead.
The effrontery in ignoring our dead and honoring our enemy’s is appalling. His action is solely to appease the Germans who had the chutzpah (gall) to be insulted for not being a part of the Normandy ceremony last June commemorating the 40th anniversary of the European invasion.
