Light Plane Strikes Dog on Takeoff, Lands Safely

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A twin-engine plane, damaged when it struck a dog during takeoff Friday, made a safe belly landing 2 1/2 hours later. The four persons aboard the Piper Lancer PA-32 were unharmed, but the dog was killed.
