Countywide : Santa Ana Freeway Job Set for Sunday Morning
- Share via
The left and center lanes of the southbound Santa Ana Freeway will be closed from 5 to 11 a.m. Sunday from Rosecrans Avenue south to the Orange County line at Knott Avenue. Only the right lane will remain open.
Work crews will be replacing pavement markings, restriping and making minor repairs during the closure.
Felicia Archer, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Transportation, advises motorists wishing to avoid the expected traffic jam to use the southbound 605 Freeway to the eastbound 91 Freeway if possible.
The detour would return motorists to the Santa Ana Freeway south of the restricted area near the Fullerton-Anaheim-Buena Park border between Beach Boulevard and Magnolia Street.
Caltrans expects road conditions to be be back to normal for traffic heading toward Anaheim Stadium for the 1 p.m. California Angels game, Archer said.
