Agoura Hills Council Names Hood Mayor

John Hood, an insurance agent who has been an Agoura Hills city councilman since the eight-square-mile municipality’s incorporation 28 months ago, was elected mayor Tuesday night by other council members. Council colleague Vicky Leary was elected mayor pro tem.
Hood succeeds Carol Sahm, who will continue as a council member.
Agoura Hills is about 10 miles west of the San Fernando Valley and has a population of about 20,000.
