Local News in Brief : Motorist Found Dead Days After Accident

A27-year-old Sepulveda woman was found dead Sunday after her car apparently swerved off the Golden State Freeway and slid down a gully sometime late last week, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Victoria Pelayo was found dead in her car near Branford Street after police received a report of a car over the side of the freeway. She had been dead for at least three days, CHP officer Phil Lammi said.
Pelayo either fell asleep while driving south or lost control of her Chevrolet before it plunged down a ravine and into a fence, Lammi said.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy.
