USC’s Track Team Closes Out Home Schedule Today

USC’s track team will conclude its home schedule today when it meets Texas Christian, UC Irvine and New Mexico in a four-team scoring meet at Cromwell Field.
Long Beach City College and Pasadena CC, two of the best junior college track teams in the country, will compete in a dual meet in conjunction with USC’s meet. First event will be at 11 a.m.
UCLA’s track team will open Pacific 10 competition today against California at Berkeley. The Bruins are 3-0 in dual competition, the Bears 7-0.
Sprints will be the featured events in the USC meet. TCU is led by Jamaica’s Ron Stewart and Andrew Smith. The Trojans will counter with Darwin Cook, Pac-10 champion in the 100 meters.
In other track activity, an SPA TAC development meet will be held today at UCLA starting at 1 p.m. No pre-entry is required.
