5 Killed in Beirut in Million-Dollar Heist

BEIRUT — Gunmen killed five people and stole gold and jewelery worth $1.3 million at a jeweler’s workshop in Christian East Beirut, police reported Friday.
The gunmen, apparently armed with silencer-equipped pistols, entered the second floor workshop Thursday afternoon, killed one of the owners of the workshop and four of his employees, police said.
