Azusa
Azusa’s 200 employees have been given a salary increase based on the median wage of employees in cities of comparable size. The raises average 10%, ranging from a low of 2% for a position in the Finance Department to a high of 53% for the post of emergency services coordinator. The adjustments are retroactive to Jan. 1. The City Council approved the increases after a study by a personnel consultant firm showed that salaries were below the average paid in other cities. The study was instigated during wage negotiations with three employee unions last year.
