LTV Steel said it will restart some units.
LTV Steel Co., a subsidiary of LTV Corp., said it will restart one of two electric furnaces at its Pittsburgh steel works. The company said it will also restart a blooming mill at the same location. About 275 employees will be recalled to run the operations, which have been idle since May, 1984, LTV Steel said. The company said the restarts are because of increased orders at LTV Steel’s flat-rolled division.
