Bardsley Sparks SCC in Double-Overtime Win, 81-79

Southern California College, led by junior guard Ken Bardsley with 23 points, pulled out a double-overtime win, 81-79, Friday night over Cal Baptist in NAIA District 3 conference action at Riverside.
SCC was up by two points with 12 seconds remaining when Cal Baptist guard Tim Reynolds hit a 20-foot jump shot to send the game into overtime, 65-65.
In the first overtime, the Vanguards were trailing by two points when Bardsley hit a 25- foot jump shot with three-seconds left to tie the game at 74-74 and send it into a second overtime.
After each team scored, Cal Baptist’s Randy Davis dunked the ball after a foul and was called for a technical. Bardsley went then sank a free throw to give SCC the lead, 77-76.
But SCC turned the ball over twice in the final minutes of the game, and it wasn’t until Vanguard senior center Mike Bruce was fouled and sank both free throws that SCC secured the lead and the victory.
