Laguna Hills : Three Sought in Armed Theft at Condominium
Orange County sheriff’s deputies were seeking three men Wednesday in connection with an armed robbery at a Laguna Hills condominium complex.
Lt. Dick Olson said three men surprised Michael Richard Webster, a 31-year-old construction foreman, and his brother, Steven, as they walked downstairs to leave their Sage Hill condominium shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The apparent leader of the trio ordered the brothers to lie face down on the floor and pointed a black, small-caliber handgun at them, Olson said. Another robber was armed with what the brothers described as a skin diver’s knife.
One of the robbers removed wallets from the victims’ pants pockets, then tied them up with what deputies described as a nylon jump rope. A watch valued at $300 also was taken.
A friend of the Websters, Scott Llewellyn Churchfield, 21, who was upstairs watching television, also was accosted, ordered downstairs, robbed of his wallet containing $20 and then bound.
The gunman was described as about 5 feet 7, 170 pounds, with collar-length strawberry-blond hair, a blond mustache and a partial beard.
Both accomplices were described as having black hair and black mustaches, one about five feet 7 and 170 pounds, the other about 5 feet 2 and 150 pounds. All appeared to be in their mid-20s.
