Harbor City
The Harbor City Coordinating Council has launched an effort to obtain a anti-truancy program for this Los Angeles community of 20,000.
Coordinating council members decided last week to form a committee that will examine ways to begin an Operation Stay-in-School program in Harbor City, similar to those now operating in Carson and San Pedro. Workers in the proposed program would pick up truant youngsters, counsel them and call their parents.
The group will hold a planning meeting Feb. 26.
