AT&T; unveiled a new discount plan.
The company’s new plan would give a 15% discount to certain long-distance callers in return for a $25 monthly fee. The plan, called Pro America, is intended to benefit those callers--primarily small businesses--that make between $167 and $1,000 worth of out-of-state calls a month, according to John R. Smart, vice president-business markets and services for AT&T; Communications. The discount, if approved by the FCC, will be offered nationwide starting March 29.
