Tennessee Defeats USC Women, 71-60
USC forward Cheryl Miller, who was held to a career-low 12 points in Sunday’s loss to Georgia, led all scorers with 31 points Tuesday night, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Trojans lost to the University of Tennessee, 71-60, in the Stokely Athletic Center at Knoxville, Tenn.
A crowd of 4,443 watched sophomore forward Lisa Webb score 17 points for the unranked Volunteers, who improved their record to 8-5. Sixth-ranked USC dropped to 10-2 and must face undefeated and top-ranked Old Dominion at Norfolk, Va., Friday night.
Miller also had 17 rebounds, while freshman center Holly Ford added 12 points, but the pair couldn’t prevent the Trojans from dropping their second game on the three-game trip.
USC lost three games--to Texas, Louisiana Tech and Old Dominion--and beat Rutgers on a similar trip last season.
