An additional charge--possession of a machine gun--was filed in federal court against a Northrop engineer accused of attempting to sell secret information about the Stealth bomber to the Soviets. A federal grand jury returned the new indictment against Thomas P. Cavanagh, 40, of Downey. Cavanagh was arrested on charges of attempting to sell classified information about the secret bomber to undercover FBI agents posing as Russians. Cavanagh is charged now with possessing an AR-15 fully automatic rifle, which qualifies as a machine gun under federal law.
