Maybe having the defending state champion in the 100 meters provides motivation, but at the Mission League track and field prelims on Tuesday at Occidental College, there was lots of speed on display in the 100.
Defending state champion Khalfani Muhammad had the fastest time at 10.65, but he had lots of competition.
Sophomore Dominic Davis of Alemany ran 10.79. Freshman TJ Brock of Crespi ran 10.82. Loyola’s Morgan Simon and Lee Duncan were next at 10.86 and 10.96, respectively.
The finals are set for Thursday at Occidental College.
