Baseball: Monday is freedom day for transfer students

On Monday, players who transferred and had to sit out the opening month of the season will become eligible, and several schools will benefit.

Gardena Serra (10-5) will finally get to show off the Bates brothers, Solomon and Roosevelt, transfers from Victor Valley, along with Marcus Wilson, a transfer from Los Angeles Hamilton.

Downey Warren (8-3) will have four players become eligible, led by standout pitcher Alan Trejo, a transfer from L.A. Cathedral. Also eligible will be three players who transferred from Downey and another from Bell.

Bishop Amat gets eligible junior catcher Michael Palos, a transfer from L.A. Cathedral.

L.A. Marshall gets standout catcher Adam Martinez, a transfer from Los Angeles Lincoln.
