Baseball: It’s a Glendora-Bonita final in Arcadia tourney

Two surging teams, Glendora (10-4) and La Verne Bonita (14-1), will play for the championship of the Arcadia tournament on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Arcadia High.
Glendora defeated West Covina, 10-5, in pool play. Bonita won its 10th consecutive game, a 12-0 win over South Pasadena. Tyler Heslop had a double and home run and Justin Garza and Thomas Castro had three RBIs apiece.
In Las Vegas, Birmingham defeated Las Vegas, 4-1. Andres Acosta’s two-run single in the sixth was the key hit. The Patriots lost to Las Vegas Centennial, 9-8. Cleveland defeated Shadow Ridge, 4-3, when Andrew Devian scored from second on a sacrifice fly. The Cavaliers also beat Moapa Valley, 2-1. Devian had a two-out, two-run single in the seventh. Peyton Long threw six innings.
In San Diego, Mason Novak’s sacrifice fly in the seventh gave El Camino Real a 3-2 win over San Diego Grosmont. Adam Cox pitched Taft past San Diego Clairemont, 3-1. Ramsey Abushahia had a two-run single.
Malibu (12-2) kept scoring runs in a 15-1 win over Chula Vista High Tech. Matt Gruskin went five for five with four RBIs. Santa Barbara defeated Riverton (Utah), 1-0. Tanner Guerra threw the shutout and Michael Day had the RBI. North Hollywood defeated Chula Vista Castle Park, 6-5. Brayden Harris contributed two RBIs and the pitching victory.
Sierra Canyon received 11 strikeouts from Sean Adler in an 8-1 win over Pine Valley Mountain Empire. Kyle Weber and Evan Kantor had three hits apiece. Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Monrovia, 9-8, in eight innings. Max Fescke went three for three. Justin Sanford won the game with an RBI single.
Burbank defeated Rolling Hills Prep, 21-0.
