Boys’ basketball: Crenshaw, Dorsey pull off upset victories

What a night for the Coliseum League. Crenshaw and Dorsey pulled off upset victories to advance to the semifinals of the City Section Division I playoffs.
Crenshaw received a three-pointer from Micah Winn with five seconds left to defeat No. 4-seeded Palisades, 68-66. Palisades had taken a 66-65 lead with 11 seconds left on two free throws by Tyler Duke. Brandon Baker made 16 of 17 free throws for Crenshaw and scored 21 points. Duke had 26 points for Palisades.
Dorsey got a basket from Laroy Alexander with two seconds left to defeated No. 2-seeded Fairfax, 47-46.
Dorsey will play Westchester, which held off Washington, 65-62. The game will be 8 p.m. at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday. Crenshaw will play top-seeded Taft at 6 p.m. Taft defeated Birmingham, 78-56. Anthony January had 21 points.
In Division II, El Camino Real cruised to a 72-39 victory over San Pedro. Michael Thomas scored 19 points. Narbonne defeated Kennedy, 58-47.
In Division III, Grant defeated Chatsworth, 72-56. Gurgen Harutyunyun had 22 points. Terrell Funches had 25 points for Chatsworth.
