Boys’ basketball: L.A. Windward stuns Archbishop Mitty in OT

Los Angeles Windward pulled off a giant upset on Wednesday in the Torrey Pines tournament, beating nationally ranked San Jose Archbishop Mitty, 73-71, in overtime.
Jordan Wilson made a three-pointer at the end of regulation. Wilson finished with 22 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Nick Stover had 23 points and 10 rebounds. Charles Dawson had 13 points.
Windward will face Woodland Hills Taft in the semifinals.
In the Temple City-La Salle tournament, Muir improved to 10-0 with a 72-65 win over Cantwell Sacred Heart. Dion Nelson scored 20 points for Muir. Jose Estrada had 28 points for Cantwell Sacred Heart.
St. Francis defeated La Salle, 57-52. Emerson Castaneda had 23 points. In a consolation game, Arcadia defeated Franklin, 69-55. Zachary Hinton scored 28 points for Franklin. L.A. Baptist defeated St. Paul, 55-52. Gabrielino defeated Marshall, 48-47. Tyler Shimamoto had 22 points, including a layup with five seconds left. Javon Shields made a three-pointer with three seconds left to give South Pasadena a 48-47 win over Montebello.
