Track and field: Long Beach Poly posts best time in girls’ 4x100 relay

As expected, Long Beach Poly recorded the fastest time in the girls’ 4x100 relay Friday at the state track meet at Clovis Buchanan High, winning its preliminary heat in 45.80 seconds.

Rancho Verde won its heat in 46.37 and Los Osos prevailed in another heat in 46.82 to advance to the championship race Saturday. Also advancing to the championship from Southern California were St. Mary’s Academy (46.46), Corona Roosevelt (47.15) and Carson (47.50).
