Corona Roosevelt posted the fastest time in the preliminary heats of the boys’ 4x100 relay at the state track meet Friday at Clovis Buchanan High, winning in 41.06 seconds, but Dorsey created the most buzz with a come-from-behind victory over Fairfield Rodriguez in its heat.

The Dons overtook the Mustangs in the final 25 meters to win in 41.38, just ahead of Rodriguez’s 41.49. Also advancing from Southern California to Saturday’s championship race were Oaks Christian (41.39), Colony (41.63) and Canyon Country Canyon (41.78).
