Palm Desert’s Ryan Garvey hit a double in the first inning, then tried to score after Bishop Amat second baseman Brandon Castaneda made an error on a throw to first. First baseman Ryan Serrato’s throw to catcher Seby Zavala was in time to get a sliding Garvey.

At the end of the first inning of the Division 4 final, it’s Bishop Amat 0, Palm Desert 0.

Update: Bishop Amat pitcher Daniel Zamora was able to turn a ground ball hit back to the mound with the bases loaded into a double play. After two innings, Bishop Amat 0, Palm Desert 0.
