Shut out for six innings by Oaks Christian’s Travis Radke, top-seeded Palm Desert rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh with two outs to pull out a 2-1 victory over the Lions in a Southern Section Division 4 semifinal game, earning a trip to Dodger Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Palm Desert will face Bishop Amat, which beat Torrance, 5-4, with a run in the seventh.

Oaks Christian scored a run in the first inning on doubles by Trevor Gretzky and Brandon Evans and came close to getting out of the College of the Desert with a victory.

But Palm Desert got an RBI double from Brooks Kriske, and Cody Kabeary singled in the winning run.

Evans went three for three for Oaks Christian. Kaz Halcovich threw a complete game for Palm Desert, which means the Aztecs will have their ace, Kriske, fresh and ready for Friday’s championship game against Bishop Amat.
