Girls’ basketball: Mater Dei 22, Santa Monica 12

Mater Dei outscored Santa Monica 12-4 in the second quarter and has a 22-12 lead at halftime of tonight’s Southern California Regional quarterfinal game at Mater Dei High.

Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Alexyz Vaioletama have six points apiece and Kiki Alofaituli and Jordan Adams have each added four points for the Monarchs, who opened the second quarter with a 6-0 run.

Moriah Faulk has six points to lead Santa Monica, which is still in the game despite it’s poor shooting.
