Baseball: Milken is seeking historic win

Since it opened in 1991, Los Angeles Milken has never won a Southern Section championship in any sport. But the Jewish school located in the Sepulveda Pass has advanced to the Division 7 championship baseball game on Friday at 1:30 p.m. against top-seeded Camarillo Cornerstone Christian at UC Riverside.
And the Wildcats (19-4) have one important quality going for them: Many of their players grew up playing youth baseball in the San Fernando Valley against strong competition.
Their top player is junior outfielder David Blazer, and senior pitcher Ben Ludewig has allowed only two hits in his last three starts.
So fans of Encino Little League and Mid-Valley PONY baseball should be out en force rooting for Milken.
