Baseball: Kevin Torres hits two more home runs for Birmingham

Kevin Torres hit his ninth and 10th home runs of the season and pitched a complete game to help Lake Balboa Birmingham defeat Reseda Cleveland, 4-3, Friday night in a West Valley League game.

Birmingham (12-12, 3-5) is tied for third place and within striking distance of earning a City Section Division I playoff berth with two league games remaining.

Steven Rodriguez drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single. Torres ended up throwing 10 innings this week against Cleveland and winning both games. Now that’s a player-of-the-week performance.
