$25 transportation fee set for City Section

Plans are on schedule to require athletes in the City Section this fall to pay a $25 transportation fee, according to Barbara Fiege, the City Section commissioner.

The one-time fee would help make up for a more than $600,000 cut in the sports transportation budget. Still to be decided is whether athletes who do not use buses will be required to pay the fee.

Coaching stipends are also scheduled to be cut in football and basketball (two each) unless outside funds are found.
