Long Beach Poly made five three-pointers in the first half and has come away with a 33-26 halftime lead over Westchester.
Poly’s front-line players outplayed their counterparts in the first half, aggressively attacking the offensive boards. That aggressiveness produced three fouls for Dwayne Polee and two for Reggie Murphy, Westchester’s big men.
Westchester kept searching for someone to contribute off the bench, but it was left to its guards to keep the Comets close.
