Girls’ basketball: Santa Monica and Summit will meet in title game

Fourth-seeded Summit upset top-seeded Canyon Springs, 72-71, tonight in a Southern Section Division 1A semifinal at Rancho Verde High.
In the other Division 1A semifinal tonight at Damien High, second-seeded Santa Monica glided past third-seeded Ayala, 67-37, behind Moriah Faulk’s 20 points and Thea Lemberger’s 16 points.
Santa Monica (24-6) and Summit (25-5) will meet next week in the championship for the first time since Summit defeated Santa Monica, 40-39, at the Ladycat Classic on Dec. 2.
