Baseball: Crenshaw gets lift from freshmen

Utility player Keymon Thomas and third baseman Ron Miller have been important contributors as freshmen for Los Angeles Crenshaw (23-7), which opens the City Section Division II playoffs today as the No. 2 seed.
Thomas, the Cougars’ leadoff hitter, is batting .450 with 36 hits and 14 stolen bases. Miller has driven in 42 runs and has 40 hits and a .415 batting average.
