There’s good news and bad news to report about Simi Valley Royal pitcher Cody Buckel.
The good news is he got great reviews last week for performing in the lead role of his school production of ‘High School Musical.’
‘Cody is very popular with the ladies,’ drama teacher Joy Enright said. ‘The audiences are loving him.’
And the bad news? He got rocked on the mound last Friday by Westlake, losing 17-3 on the day after starring in the musical.
His baseball coach, Dan Maye, wasn’t too pleased. Buckel has two more shows this week, then two more on May 9.
‘Cody’s had just a nonstop schedule,’ Enright said. ‘I don’t know how he’s done it.’
Buckel deserves credit for pulling off the rare double. And I don’t think people need to worry about his pitching. He’ll be fine.
