Woodland Hills Taft (9-13) and Calabasas (10-13) are struggling in baseball, but they each have a player performing at the highest level.
Sophomore Jordan Berger of Taft, a catcher-shortstop, leads the team in hitting with a .421 batting average in the competitive West Valley League.
Senior Adam Landecker of Calabasas, headed to USC, is batting well over .500. On Friday, in a 7-1 loss to Simi Valley, he accounted for the Coyotes’ only run on a home run.
It’s hard to get noticed if you’re team has a losing record, but these two players deserve respect.
